The Arniston 1815-2015 – A village remembers, Marius Diemont

The objective of the Waenhuiskrans / Arniston Conservation Association (WACA) is to conserve both the natural environment and the cultural landscape of Waenhuiskrans / Arniston and its adjacent areas.

Arniston is unique. No other seaside village can match its charm, colour and simplicity. It has one of the few working harbours, overlooked by the fishermen's cottages of Kassiesbaai. It is a place greatly treasured and loved by all who know it.

Arniston has been threatened by inappropriate development in the past. It is now once again under threat, from various origins. We need to use our influence and to do all in our power to ensure that development in Arniston is responsible. It must not ruin the environment. It must help the community, not for a day, but for the many years still to come.
